I’m spending the semester in the endlessly growing city of Beijing, taking Chinese language and culture classes, which are all taught in Chinese. This picture is Chengdu, Sichuan, in central China. We spent two days hiking to the summit of Emei Shan, which is one of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains. On the second day, we started hiking before dawn to see the sunrise as we reached the top, which was beautiful. In a few days I’m off to Guizhou to explore China’s southern countryside!
