Off the Hill, On the Spot: Barrels Community Market

A new marketplace aimed at bringing producers and consumers closer together opened this summer in downtown Waterville. Barrels Community Market favors food and homemade goods from within a 20-mile radius of Waterville. Items range from goat cheese and beet greens to soap and mittens. Barrels also includes an event space for a variety of community programs throughout the year. Many students returning to campus this fall were eager to visit this new downtown spot that makes shopping locally even easier.
