Dairy Cone
Published December 28, 2010
When the weather warms in the spring, and upon their return in September, students take the short walk down the hill to an old (circa 1960), locally owned mom-and-pop ice cream stand, Dairy Cone. It’s open daily from early March until early autumn, and, not only does it offer 43 flavors of old-fashioned ice cream, it also has a selection of frozen yogurt (a Colby student favorite, according to co-owner Rachel Paradis), slushes, sundaes, shakes, and more. Paradis and her husband and co-owner Don Paradis make all their own ice cream, and they say they’re always open to new flavor suggestions.
