Midterm Week (for lack of a better title)

So that was the end of one of these midterm weeks.  I had a geology test Monday and a Spanish test Wednesday.  My English portfolio was due.  I got assigned my first formal paper for sociology.

My head is spinning, to say the least.

I’ve had to start color-coordinating my to do lists just so I could put into perspective what work I had to do when.  It didn’t help to know that I wouldn’t have this weekend completely free to work as my entire family is coming (that would be mom, dad, high-school-age-brother and middle-school-age-brother).  I don’t even know what I’m trying to say, apart from the fact that I wanted to tout how much I’ve had to do this week, and how much I have for next week (in addition to that sociology paper, there’s a thirty-five-page reading).

But I’m managing.  I still have a lot to do this weekend and next week.  I don’t have plans for Fall Break, except to sit in bed, wrapped in my duvet watching “Freaks and Geeks” (my new obsession) on Netflix and flipping through the copies of Vogue I have waiting for me.  At one point I was thinking, “I should go to Boston and go shopping and eat at nice restaurants” but now I welcome the idea of spending five days doing nothing in my room.  I think it will help me settle and to gather myself for the next stretch – until Thanksgiving Break, when I actually will be getting off campus.  And we’re just about halfway through the semester now, which is craaaazy.

Two great things about this week:  the fantastic sunset on Tuesday (yes, those photos went through Instagram…) and “Wild Horses” covered by Alicia Keys and Adam Levine.
