The majestic tower of Colby’s Miller Library is a landmark for both the campus and the surrounding area. From off the hill, Miller tower stands as a high point. From anywhere on campus, it becomes a central reference point.

Everybody can see its exterior, but not everyone gets the chance to explore it from the inside. Rising through its stories, you encounter beautiful view after beautiful view. First, the clockwork that drives the dials on all four sides of the tower. Walking outside on the balcony, the campus appears before you from a whole new perspective. Two more windowed floors allow higher vistas until you reach the top floor and come face to face with the legendary blue light. Atop the tower sits a weathervane of the sloop Hero, the ship on which Colby’s founder sailed from Boston. From far and near, Miller tower is the iconic symbol of Colby.
