ShowColby: Mr. Colby Pageant

Each spring students pack Page Commons to witness a competition between some of Colby's finest men. The annual Mr. Colby "beauty pageant" puts contestants through vigorous tests of talent, passion, and manliness. Categories include formal wear, swimsuit, and talent, followed by a question-and-answer period. This year, judges included Assistant Director of Security Jeff Coombs, mailroom supervisor and campus personality Al LaPan, sociology professor Shirley Jackson, and history professor Jason Opal. The contestants, as always, were classy, intelligent, and entertaining: seniors Patrick Sanders, Kit Clark, Doug Rooke, and Nolan Reis were joined by Pat Roche '09 and Jackson Ridd '11. They displayed a wide variety of interests and talent, each contributing to the competition in their own way. Special guests included the Colby Blue Lights, Hypnotik Dance Team, and President Bro Adams.
