Students wanting to major in art find that Colby has great professors as well as excellent facilities, and that's not a selling cliché. Starting with studio art, you can concentrate in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture, working closely with professors throughout. Moreover, Colby has a full range of art facilities concentrated in the Bixler Art and Music Center. With six studios, one for each area concentration, art students have 24/7 access to the spaces and equipment they need. Bixler also houses an art library and the Colby College Museum of Art, which has the largest exhibition space in Maine.
