ShowColby: International Portraits

Before coming to Colby, I attended a United World College (UWC) in Canada where I spent two inspiring years living and learning with friends from more than 100 countries. During this time I came to believe that the world is beautiful for a simple reason: we are all so different.
After graduating from UWC, I wanted to continue to experience this beauty of diversity in college. Colby, with so many international students in the student body, proved a perfect destination. International students now representing 70 countries make up 12 percent of the student population. Each international student is a unique individual from whom I can learn, and each has an intriguing culture and story. This photo essay, portraits of 10 international students in native dress, is a celebration of the amazing diversity that Colby has to offer.
