Jean-Jacques Ndayisenga '13: Fighting Poverty Through an International Lens

Jean-Jacques Ndayisenga '13 is one of the first students from Rwanda to attend Colby. Growing up in Rwanda and attending school in Costa Rica and the United States has given him an international insight into achieving economic stability. JJ hopes that by majoring in economics at Colby he will be able to fight poverty and, consequently, conflicts across the world.

As a lay person who has studied the history of Rwanda, I find this video interesting and well put together. I love to hear personal stories of people who have lived in other countries. Kudos to the video team that put this together.

Having JJ work for special Programs this summer has been a true blessing. What an awesome young man! Hard working, humble, pleasant, and funny, Very funny. Ask him to show you his comedy routine from the Extravaganza! Also if the Colby soccer team is looking for another goalie, I think JJ might be a candidate!
